There are a number of organisations who give grants to young people's groups and your DofE group may be eligible to apply. See below for some possible sources of funding.
Think Big Awards
Grants are available for young people to launch ideas and programmes that benefit the places where they live. Check out the website for info on how to apply at http://www.o2.co.uk/thinkbig/people/youngpeople.
The Princes Trust
The Princes Trust offers awards of up to £5,000 for projects run and managed by 14-24 year olds that benefit their community. They can also provide advice and support to give these projects the maximum chance of success. The Small Grants Scheme is designed to support smaller UK charities particularly those working at grass roots and local community level, in any field, across a wide range of activities. Applications can be made at any time for grants between £1,000 and £10,000, and you need to be able to demonstrate that such a grant would make a significant difference to your work. The Percy Bilton Foundation
Organisations assisting disadvantaged youth and people with disabilities may apply for grants of either; £2,000 or more for capital expenditure, or smaller donations of up to £500 towards furnishing and equipment. Applications can be made at any time. Full details are available on their website at:
